Ancestry Census Address Search
« on: Friday 07 May 21 17:02 BST (UK) »
When I was looking for some records on Ancestry earlier today I had a popup which said that I could now search the census for an address as well as a person.

I didn't want to do that then but would like to try it out now but I can't find the option anywhere.

Anyone else seen it/tried it?

No sign of that feature for me yet. They might be rolling it out slowly? Sounds like it would be very useful.
;D Doing my best, but frequently wrong ;D
:-* My thanks to everyone who helps me, you are all marvellous :-*

I try using the address in the "keyword" box.

Works some of the time...

Are you sure? FindMyPast have had census address search for some time so it wouldn't have struck me as something new.

Also I distinctly remember the phrase re the NEW census address search being outlined in Ancestry green.

Kiltpin is correct. This is definitely a new search feature.
It's been possible to search by address on individual census years for some time.
Now you can click on a new link to search addresses, across all censuses.
it has only been introduced in the last few weeks.

Oh I understand.  Sorry was using both yesterday and think I am right in saying that it was enclosed in a green border so I thought it was a much awaited Ancestry feature.

Will take closer notice in future.

It is in a green box on FindMyPast after selecting 'Search' from the top of the page
