The brother lived at Vincent Street Remuera, and in 1928 a John Munro, Farmer is at 44 Vincent street.  But no ‘A’

There is an ad for a jersey cow that has wandered from Vincent street, so it was obviously on the edge then

Added…it’s the Parnell roll.

Is it confirmed (somewhere) that the "brother" lived specifically at Vincent Street, (Remuera)  ??

Just curious ?   ;)

So obvious “ a brother of”  I think you must be right. A is Audrey.

I must be going dotty. Looks like I misread the death notice slightly.

So it looks definitely like Wilfred is the son of John and Elizabeth (nee BELL).

Just found the will for Alexander James and one of his sons mentioned in it has the name Talbot.

Thanks for the clarification, Mckha.   ;)

It was the "NZ Herald" version of Wilfred's death notice I'd been viewing (which didn't show street address).
https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/NZH19260824.2.2.5
But did find the other notice, after I'd asked the question.    ;D

Added :   And of course, Audrey MUNRO would have only been 17 or 18, and not yet on a Voter's roll in 1926.

Another word that comes to mind is doddery.

Have not found anything else on John Bell. Might have to get a certificate for him.

Nah ... never "doddery" !   ;D       But like you usually say, "fresh eyes".   That's often the key.

Save your $$$$ ... at least for a while yet.
I'm sure there are more fresh eyes out there that might just spot him.   ;)

John Bell MUNRO (b. 1902)  ??

Hi Ian

There is a "John MUNRO" - birth year 1902 - Native of New Zealand ... in the New Zealand Police Gazette from c. 1924 - scattered years -  and a last date of 1939.    First offence looks to be in Auckland.
This is a report of a 1925-1926 incident  >
https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/THS19250226.2.52

1925 Police Gazette photo > John MUNRO >  at page 60.   (not sure this link will work ??)

Of course, not saying it is John Bell MUNRO.
But man of that name is missing from electoral rolls > was not mentioned as being a brother of the late Wilfred in 1926 > and the only other record with full name is the 1969 death listing ( proving difficult to find him in cemetery records ).

Added : D.o.b. for John Bell MUNRO  is 24 September 1902.
