The first page of his discharge papers shows that he served 21 years 318 days of which 5 years was in the Mediterranean and nearly 3 years in the West Indies and British Guiana.

Looking through his file, the court martial record reveals that he was in Dublin in October 1834, in Malta in July 1839, and in Dungarvan in March 1851.

You can track the movements of the regiment and its depot company in contemporary newspapers ("Stations of the British Army").

His army record is currently viewable free of charge on Fold 3 though you may need to access it via an Ancestry login. There are many pages and a lot of information on his various misdemeanors: https://www.fold3.com/image/585113590?xid=1022&_ga=2.92480414.2005846102.1622141213-422240459.1619469664

Hi Shaun, me again.
i got access to the records but although  I am in all the sites I don't know how to find out the names of Daniel and Winifred's other children. I see a Hannah was born in 1839 but she is the only one I can see. I would imagine as they spent 3 years in Barbados then onto Cork ets there would be lots more, ay idea how could find them. Pat x
