PRONI valuation Revision books
« on: Thursday 27 May 21 13:53 BST (UK) »
Hi
I have a query.
I have found my ancestor Arthur Magee in the Valuation Revision books online at PRONI.
His name is crossed out and in the right hand page it says 67 69 72 and then “down 79”
Does this mean that a) he lived there until 1879 and b) after that the house was demolished?

Any ideas welcomed!
Thanks
MAGEE (Dungannon Tyrone to Shankill Belfast, to Whitehouse Co Antrim,) HALL (Lisnaskea, Fermanagh to Yan Yean, Melbourne Australia) McIVOR (Whitehouse, Co Antrim), McCULLOUGH (Markethill, Armagh), DEMPSTER (Ballymena, Co Antrim to Belfast), CUMMING (Glasgow), EVANS (Llandysill, Montgomeryshire to Belfast), NEVIN/ NEVINS (Ballynahinch, Co Down to Belfast), EMMS (Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey), HURREY (Yan Yean, Whittlesea, Melbourne), FINLAY- Jane, of Co Down, m James McIvor 1867. HOBSON Tyrone

Yes, it looks like Arthur Magee was there until the house taken down in 1879 (earlier changes seem to be in regard to immediate lessors)
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thank you Aghadowey.
I wasn’t sure if the red line meant he had left in 72 as that figure is in red?
However I suppose if it wasn’t taken down until 79, and he had left in 72, there would be another name in addition to his. Could it have been left vacant for 7 years?  ???

Many thanks
