Burial(s) in Welford Road Cemetery, Leicester
« on: Wednesday 02 June 21 18:58 BST (UK) »
I know several people have access to burials in this cemetery, so I'm hoping someone can check on the following for me.

I have been told that Grace Banbury, who died in Oct 1877, was buried in Welford Road, and would like to have confirmation of this.  I would also like to know if Grace's husband, John Banbury, was possibly buried there.  He died in 1893 or very late 1892.

Thanking you in advance.

Wonderful!  Thank you so much.  I don't know who the Benfords were, but I assume Emma Victoria was a Banbury daughter.  Will have to check that out.  I gather the addresses are the last residences of the deceased.

The addresses are listed as "place of abode", so it should be their last address and/or the place where they died. However sometimes this is shown as the hospital, but in your case it look as as though this probably shows the home address.

(I've just realised that the formatting of my post above shows Mary as a first name rather than as the name of the home parish so I've corrected that!)

Looking at the censuses, Grace and John had a daughter Victoria born c 1844; I wonder if this was Emma Victoria.

Yes, her birth name was Victoria, and that's how she appears in other records.  Only in her burial record is she referred to as Emma Victoria.
