Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find out who Jane Benson, born in Dalston in Cumberland in 1859 married.
At some point shortly after her birth, her whole family moved to Durham.
I have her on the 1861 census
Household schedule number 260 Piece 3784 Folio 56 Page number 45
The 1871 census
Household schedule number 357 Piece 5025 Folio 38 Page number 70
She is single and living with her parents on both of those.
In 1881 however, she is living with her parents again but this time she is married. Ancestry transcribes her surname as Armour, but I'm not sure.
I've tried variants on Armour with no luck. I can't even find a newspaper announcement about a marriage, but from what I've found of this family so far, they rarely did newspaper announcements anyway.
The 1881 census does have her birth location as Durham, but I think that might just be a mistake as she is listed below her younger siblings who were born in Durham.
I think the marriage was most likely to have taken place in 1879, 1880 or 1881.
