Thank you Sandra for this excellent background information and for the births and deaths of the various people involved. I think I see what started the controversy. On the 1920 census, if you look closely at the house numbers, John Watterson is actually living with Robert McIntyre and Ella below his name and not with the Kent household above his name.
That’s great information in the obituary of Margaret McCaskey White.

As near as I can figure, George Watterson born Ireland abt 1783 died between 1857 and 1860 in Chester Co., PA as he is not on the 1860 census, nor is his wife Elizabeth. I haven't been able to find his death as yet. I have emailed to a contact in Ireland to see if George married before emigration, presuming I have hit the right church.
Thanks for any help with George's death.
