William Bottomly (Bottomley)
1784–1852
BIRTH 16 NOV 1784 • Thorney, Cambridgeshire, England
DEATH JUNE 1852 • Yorkshire West Riding, United Kingdom

I am seeing that he was married several times.  I can see a betty Sutcliffe, Betty Kenworthy and seems like there was at least one other.   Does anyone have information to clarify the wives and who had the children ?

Presumably this is one of the marriages you mention

William Bottomley
Betty Kenworthy

Married by Licence

William Bottomly (Bottomley)

Was this his death, not June 1852 though

An online tree has him born Thorney in 1784 and dying in Leeds reg district in June qtr 1852, is this where you have got your information from.  That tree does not seem right to me  :-\

The death in Leeds does not tie in with a birth in 1784

Where did you get Williams birth place as Thorney.  There is no William of that age in 1851 census born Thorney, there is only one who was age 7 but born Thorney, Nottinghamshire.  There is also one bn c1799 living in Thorney, Cambridgeshire but born in Whittlesea.

Hi,
The only marriage showing between a William Bottomly and Betty Sutcliffe is dated 9th Aug 1798 at Elland, St Mary, West Yorkshire.  William was recorded as a weaver and widower “Of This Parish” but if he’s the same person he was only 14 years old at that time.  Is this the marriage you’re looking at?
