Annie Craib bn 1869/70
« on: Friday 25 June 21 14:03 BST (UK) »
Hello

I wonder if anybody might have access to the parish registers of Keith, Banffshire? An online site has Annie Craib dt of Alexander Craib and Ann Teunion/Tennion bap 29th July 1870 but no other details of the baptism. Ann Teunion/Tennion later married a Robert? Neish.

This Annie Craib had an illegitimate daughter, Jane Ann born 5th October 1886, Mid Street, Keith. In the 1901 census there is a Jane Ann Craib, aged 14 years born Keith at The Girls Industrial School Lochburn Road, Maryhill, Glasgow who I think is the same person. In 1891 Jane Ann was living with her aunt, Jane Gordon Craib aged 4 yrs.

Does anyone have, or know of the availability of the records of this school or what became of Jane Ann?

Any thoughts or help much appreciated.

Many thanks.

She was registered as Ann - not Annie.  29.7.1870 appears to be her birthdate - not baptism

Suggest you download a copy of her birth cert from SP for further details

In 1871 - there is an Ann Craib b 1870 Banff with grandparents surname Felch?  However - the transcription shows her as 2months old so cannot be your Ann

EDIT

The above Ann died 1884 - mmn Fetch

Thank you for your replies.

I have seen and bought a copy of Annie's birth certificate from SP. 29th July is the dob. For some reason when searching yesterday I couldn't find it!

I have Annie with her grandparents (Tennion family) in 1871 and yesterday I did buy a copy of that death certificate and it is the correct Annie. She had married a George Shearer, again I have a copy of the marriage certificate.

Thank you for the link to the Rootschat discussion.
