Hi there, i’m after some assistance please in tracing a newspaper article which i’m told covered the trek of Daniel Daubney and his brother David who walked from Lincoln to Bolton in the late 19th century in search of work. Initially they both landed in Oldham where David settled with his family. Daniel moved onto Bolton where he settled and raised his family. Daniel is my GG Grandfather and was a hawker before he set up a shop in Turton Street, Bolton with his wife Harriet. Any assistance would be really appreciated.
regards Jayhen

I wonder if it might have been in a local newspaper. The Oldham Chronicle would have run these kind of articles which could be archived at the Local History Centre.
Bolton would have something similar. That might be the best place as they both lived in Bolton.

Haven't found the report you want, although there is this.  Feisty pair, these brothers!
