Blackmagic program, anyone tried it?
« on: Tuesday 30 August 05 14:25 BST (UK) »
I have found info on a program called Blackmagic, has anyone on the list tried it.?
It claims to be an easy option for adding colour to B/W images.

Just had to try it

Shame the trial version will not let you save or I would have uploaded the picture I have coloured in 5 minutes. With a bit of practice it should result in some pleasing pictures maybe not up to Vikki or Kizmiaz standards.

Regards
Ken

Hi

Just been playing with Black Magic. It will produce some OK results for those that want a quick dabble and don't want to put the hours in learning Photoshop etc. My 1 criticism was the slow reactivity of the brush. I kept taking my pen off the pad and dragging colour all over the picture.Very frustrating. For the same reason I could not be as accurate with the brush and wobbled all over the edges. May be with practice I would get used to it.

Of course I didn't bother to read the instructions but the colours were a bit vivid for me even though I did work out how to reduce the pressure. Its a shame I couldn't save it for comparison. It was quite a nice result. It will be worth having another go but I think I will persevere with Photoshop in the long run.

Thanks for pointing out its existence it was worth a look.
