leeson brothers
« on: Thursday 01 July 21 21:23 BST (UK) »
Hello, on the off chance, does anyone remember a jewellers and watch maker shop on Gateford road Worksop in the 40s-60s? Although not certain on the time. It was apparently opposite or close by a bike shop owned by a guy called ken.
The jewellers was ran by my daughters grandad and his brother and was called the Leeson Brothers? Her father told her Gateford Road but she isn't 100% sure, it could be another road in Worksop

I'm not from the area so wouldn't know anything. Thanks

If they were in business in 1939 have you looked for them on the 1939 register?

I can't see any jewllers named LEESON in Worksop in newspapers of the day. There is a death notice for a Fred MARSHALL, jeweller of 43 Gateford Rd, Worksop on Jan 16, 1944, but nothing for LEESON.  :-\

Possibly, 'Old Gateford Road', Worksop.
