Ancestry Login problem
« on: Wednesday 14 July 21 14:21 BST (UK) »
I have been signed into Ancestry for almost forever, it is treating me as if I am not signed in and sending me to the subs page to purchase a sub every time I do a search

This was coming up on a lot of forums yesterday - I think it's a glitch.

I have a similar problem. Have been with Ancestry forever. Last week, got a message on my e mails to say that my membership was about to run out & asking for all my bank details. I was very wary of this, as I have had the same bank for 15 years. I don't have a credit card, just a debit card.
Yesterday  & the day before I tried to update the info, as the card now has a new expiry date. Every time I tried to enter it I got an error message(please try again later). I have had a similar message on look ups I have been doing. I live in Spain which makes phoning them an expensive business as I only have my pension to live on.
Anyone any ideas what I can do, please.

Yesterday or the day before, I had a strip announcement across the top of the page saying that they were experiencing problems intermittently.  It did seem to drop a few times and I had to refresh but I've not had the problems that are described here.

I've been on the site more or less constantly as I've been doing a big tree overhaul.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried an E mail in response to one they sent me, telling my my membership was about to expire & requesting information which they already have......no response. To be honest, I was concerned that it was a scam, so just pointed out that they already have the information they were requesting & that all I actually needed to do was update the expiry date of my bank card (although  it was actually renewed in Dec 2019 & has caused no problem before, even when I changed from annual to monthly payment
