BOULTON   James K   & STOKES   Elizabeth   1906   Runcorn, Civil Marriage or Registrar Attended

Definitely was Elizabeth Stokes then, and not going to be a parish register. She might be difficult to find pre 1906

Joseph Help's brother William (also boatman) married an isabella Taylor on 6 Feb 1897 in Ancoats, Manchester. was Alice her much younger sister? Isabella said she was 21 at marriage and her father was James Taylor - boatman.

Kay99 - Is that the marriage at Holy trinity ? where was the record?

LizzieL - I've tried following the relationship of the Boulton couple - got the same marriage as you - but then it all seems to go askew

John Badley died Sep 1893 Dudley age 54

1881 Tipton Staffordshire 1 House 5 Court Wood Street
H Elizabeth Stokes W 37 Sedgley
D Ann Stokes 12 Tipton
D Frances Stokes 7 Tipton
D Alice Stokes 2 Tipton

John William Stokes m Elizabeth Gilley Dec 1871 Dudley

One more lil nugget - Alice Helps (nee Roberts) son b 1909 is Thomas Joseph Stokes Helps

It all ties in but with a lot of variations on age + names !

The (Martha) Alice Taylor who married in 1912 from Vicar Street Father was Joseph Taylor - Waterman. She is listed as Alice Taylor in 1901 Census + Runcorn Schools dob 25 Mar 1894 Father Joseph. I have Martha Alice Taylor birth certificate - same dob, same Fathers name + occupation born Garston Dock Liverpool.
This is the only 1911 I've found that appears to match but not much else does so either I've got it terribly wrong or there's a lot of goings on that I can't quite figure!

Regards
Deb
