I have just seen this after going back to a post that Max helped me with. In fact he helped me on many more.
I cannot add anymore to the comments others have made, he was a true gentleman.
My condolences to the family .

Having only just returned to the site after a long absence I am so very sad to hear of your loss.

Your Grandfather helped me on many occasions with my research and I am extremely grateful.

Please accept my sincere condolences.

Kind regards
Eileen

I have been wondering for a while why I wasnt seeing responses to people's queries from MaxD and so today did a bit of delving - I was saddened to read a message from his granddaughter that he had died. I would just like to record how very grateful I have been on many occasions for his helpful responses to my queries. RIP MaxD

I am saddened to read this news having just seen this post & I'd like to add my condolences to Zoe & MaxD's extended family.

Max was a specialist on the Armed Forces board & has left a legacy of his knowledge for others.

Although I've contributed to threads Max was on, I also found info. from many of his posts very helpful to myself.

RIP Max, your contributions will be missed.
