There is a website for it so perhaps if you contact them direct they may have archive information.

In 1881, it was, aptly, although the name of the house is not shown:-

William Green Head Male 46 Ropsley, Lincolnshire - Ag Lab and Innkeeper
Sarah Green Wife Female 45 Helpringham, Lincolnshire
Mary A Green Daughter Female 11 Ropsley, Lincolnshire
William Green Son Male 10 Ropsley, Lincolnshire
Sarah E Green Daughter Female 7 Ropsley, Lincolnshire
Emma Taylor Visitor Female 37 Billingboro, Lincolnshire
Kate M Green Visitor Female 1 Ropsley, Lincolnshire

But it was named in 1871 and 1891 - Green Man, High Street, Ropsley, Grantham, Lincolnshire -same family

Many thanks for that information . My great aunt Gertrude Filing may have had it after them.
Aunt Gertrude had the Green man for about 40 year so I believe.

John Miller Turner is at the Green Man in 1901-1911 with wife Elizabeth and Daughter Gertrude M (b 1889). John shows up on the High Street in 1921-23 but no name of the residence.

There is an obituary for Elizabeth in Grantham Journal on 17th December 1921, which states that the family had been in the village at the Green Man for 26 years.

Gertrude Filing, a different person from the above Gertrude, is in Ropsley in 39, but no mention of Inkeeping.

Hi all thank you so much for all your help this is so helpful and you have found when my great aunt had the pub because she married George Filing and kept it even after George died until the 1960 I think.
Kind regards naffi girl

Ps a friend of mine was related to the Greens who had it earlier.
