Richard and Elizabeth Greenway of Much Birch and Breinton
« on: Thursday 19 August 21 16:06 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Richard and Elizabeth christened a number of children in the two places, those being:

Frances, christened Much Birch 1726
Elizabeth, christened Much Birch 1729
John, christened Breinton 1732
Richard, christened Breinton 1734
James, christened Breinton 1737
Anne, christened Breinton 1739
William, christened Breinton 1742
Margaret, christened Breinton 1744

I’ve not found any marriage record for the couple, or anything beyond that. If anyone could please help at all, it’d be greatly appreciated!

Adam

There is a baptism for a Richdus Greenway, parents Johis and Maria in 1714 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6CBT-XPFF baptism is transcribed as Orthop, but is likely to be Orcop which is less that 5 miles from Much Birch.  I know that if he was born in 1714 it makes him a bit young to be fathering children in 1726, but this is just a transcript so I don't know if it notes how old he was when he was baptised.

Brilliant! I know the family moved to Orcop later on. Thank you very much.

Ah but his first child was baptised in 1726 :( yes, I see you’ve just noted that too.

Have you had a look at Herefordshire Wills? https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/herefordshire-archive-records-centre/wills-search

I took the liberty of looking for a Richard Greenway, and there is one who names the executor as Elizabeth Greenway, with a probate date of 1756 (Madley parish).  There is another one with a probate date of 1758 in the parish of Orcop.  If your Richard was one of these wills, there might be some clues contained within?
