Duncan Cameron and Jane Sloan had three recorded children before 1855

all in the parish of Old or West Kilpatrick in Dunbartonshire.
According to a transcription of the 1861 census Duncan Cameron, 43, his wife Jean, 43, son Duncan, 10, daughter Jean 8 and daughter Mary, 5, were living in Old Kilpatrick. Duncan was a distillery labourer, born in Fort William (parish of Kilmallie), Inverness-shire, and Jean was born in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire.
In 1871 Duncan and Jean were living in Lochwinnoch with Mary, 15 and David, 10. Duncan was a barytes labourer.
In 1881 they were in Dumbarton, and Duncan was a shipyard labourer. They were still there in 1891, when Duncan was a night watchman.
Duncan Cameron, aged 73, died in Dumbarton in 1894. His death certificate should tell you the names of his parents including his mother's maiden surname.
Jane Sloan or Cameron, aged 75, mother's maiden surname Allison, died in Glasgow Dennistoun in 1894. Glasgow Royal Infirmary was in Dennistoun registration district. Her death certificate should tell you the names of her parents including her mother's maiden surname.
Once you have the names of the couple's parents you can search the church registers for their baptisms.
