School at Well, Lincolnshire
« on: Saturday 21 August 21 10:18 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know about a school in Well, Nr Alford, in Lincolnshire?  I don't even know the name.  I can find no trace of it but have met people who knew people who went there.  It must have been very small, perhaps only a handful of younger children.  Just the name would give me a start in my research.  Thanks.

There is a school shown on this map of 1888, still there on a 1930 map.

Genuki says it was a public elementary school, no name given.

Added:  probably built as a result of the elementary education act of 1870

Thank you so much for your help.  I think there was about 20 children in the village then between 5 and 12 which surprised me.  Perhaps they just called it 'the school' so no need for a name....  Thanks again for your quick help.
