Attached is extract from 1858 Birth record at Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Can anyone identify the mother's birthplace [Slanan?] please.

The Tithe Applotment Books show several entries for the surname Teevan in 'Slavin' in the parish of Inishmacsaint (in 1834), forenames are Andrew, James, Mick and also a 'Widow':

Slavin is an a.k.a. for the townland of Slawin:

There is a Teevan still in Slawin in Griffiths Valuation (1862) and in the 1901/11 Ireland censuses, they can be found here:

That's brilliant info.

"Mick" in Slavin in 1834, could be the "Michael Teevan, Farmer" which my Margaret gave as her father in her 1848 Marriage to John Malcolm (in nearby Belleek parish).

And those links amount to a crash course in Irish Gen sources!

Thank you

FamilySearch has Ireland Index Calendar of Wills, which includes a Michael Teevan, of Killymore in Co Fermanagh, who died 17 June 1894 at that place.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GTMX-9QWB?i=448&cc=1921305&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AKZ5Z-V1W

He appears in Griffiths Valn at Killy More, so the name and place would seem to be correct.

But I can't for the life of me find that death anywhere in Ireland Civil Deaths, despite trying numerous variations of the surname, and despite enlarging the death date range. Very strange.

Any suggestions please?

Reading his will may help you rule him in or out, it is available online in the PRONI Will Calendars:  The Will of Michael Teevan late of Killymore County Fermanagh Farmer who died 17 June 1894 at same place was proved at Armagh by Owen M'Laughlin of Druminure in said County Farmer one of the Executors.

Here's the link to find and read it:

Briiliant!

And I can look at a whole host of other Teevan Wills.

Thank you again.
