5th Highland Light Infantry June 1940
« on: Saturday 04 September 21 14:20 BST (UK) »
I have a distant relative who was a 2nd Lt in the Highland Light Infantry, killed on June 15th 1940 in France. His name was Peter George Smith. According to notes passed on to me, his brigade (apparently number 157, of the 52nd Lowland Division) was sent to France after the official end of the Dunkirk evacuation, but then withdrawn again c18th June. I just wonder if anyone knows any details about this?

Operation Aerial

Operation Aerial was the evacuation of Allied forces and civilians from ports in western France from 15 to 25 June 1940 during the Second World War.
