Census 1871 look up request
« on: Tuesday 05 October 21 10:51 BST (UK) »
I was hoping someone can help me look up the 1871 census record for Union House Shepton Mallet or know where I can find it. I’m looking for my 3x great grandmother Eliza Target/Targett, born 1855 Ashwick, Somerset. I believe she was there when she was pregnant out of wedlock. Thank you in advance for your help.

She was a servant when the 1871 census was taken.  All b Stoke Lyne except Eliza

Address just shown as Goldsboro - Stoke St Michael

Edmund Padfield 28 farmer - 70 acres
Ann 26
Arthur 11mths
Eliza Targett  servant 16 b Ashwick
RG10/2439/62/14

If the child  was born after the census was taken the only record of her address at that time would be the birth cert

Thank you CaroleW, looks like she was there before she got pregnant and then went to the workhouse. Do you know where I would find any workhouse records for her or isn’t there any?
