Hello.

I'm 72 and Australian and looking into the relationship between SIR FRANCIS BACON and JOHANNES VALENTINUS ANDREAE.

Both men were wonderful and deeply humane and scholarly - as well as being leading figures in the brotherhoods of the Freemasons and the Rosy Cross (Rosicrucian.)

Sir Francis, later Viscount St Alban, 'died to the world' in 1626 but in fact his death was feigned in order to escape intimated death threats.

Sir Francis, was a 'concealed' poet and playwright (Shakespeare) AND the natural son albeit also 'concealed' elder son of Queen Elizabeth I and her paramour, Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester. and spat out that he, Francis, would never inherit the throne. Francis's birth was a 'state secret' with the queen personally sending him to be an attache to the English Ambassador to France, Sir Amyas Paulet.  Francis then spent 3 years in Europe learning its ways via encounters at all levels, in different states, and by employing espionage using codes and ciphers to give information directly to the queen, William Cecil, Lord Burghley (brother-in-law to Francis' foster mother, Lady Anne Bacon.)  Francis generally was very well liked and valued by many at all levels of society but he could not afford to be known as a prince nor as a playwright/poet.  He was truly caught in the horns of dilemmas for his entire life, until ...

The supposed 1626 death of Francis in Highgate Hill home of the Earl of Arundel (a close friend) he was secreted over to Europe - initially France then Germany.

Johannes Valentinus Andreae was 25 years younger than Francis, and likely consulted him when he went to England on religious and spiritual matters deeply in concert with the ideas of the Renaissance and Reformation.  Johannes was a theologian and a Rosicrucian and had a large family of similarly disposed persons re education and transforming feudal society.

It is held by many today that somehow Johannes placed Francis, now not known by his English names, within his own family milieu.  Just where and when Francis died is not known.  Had he married someone within the Andreae network?

Francis may have employed a code name known only to 'those who see' the coding or ciphering so widely used in many streams of activity.  'Christian Rosenkreutz' is one possibility.  It is known, as Johannes is known to have said, that he was not the author of the Rosicrucian Manifestos (3 works, + one other related work.)

Is it possible that an ANDREAE descendant is alive today who would have written and graphic evidence of anything in the above statements?!

I gather that an Englishman of German descent, Conrad Rudolf Andreae, did have descendants.  Conrad died in 1956.  He had one meeting with a Mr Bertram G Theobald in London (i think it was) and was shown something of his private archival material regarding Johannes and Francis.

Sadly Mr Theobald, a Baconian scholar, died in 1940 (born in 1871.)  Both men had agreed to meet again to consolidate understanding of genealogy and shared interests/concerns.

Hope someone finds this interesting and is able to share in this research.

Kind regards,
Julie
