1917 Court martial
« on: Sunday 10 October 21 11:45 BST (UK) »
Family story that needs to be looked at. Can anyone help?

Robert Bach of the Scots Guards apparently had a District Court Martial in 1917. How can I find out more about him and what happened and any punishment? Thank you.

Record indicates he received no medals.
He appears to have forfeited his DCM for Desertion: 22/8/1916 and 12/8/1917

His DCM record with image listed under R. Bach, but there's not much info except what's below. Looks like he received 42 days detention (if I've matched up the dates correctly).

R. Bach of the Scots Guards tried 6 Mar 1917 Chelsea
Reference Number:   WO 86/7

Here's an earlier record, also on Fold3. Looks like he received 70 days detention for this desertion.
He served with the 3rd Regiment of Scots Guards.

R K Bach, tried 22 Aug 1916, Chelsea
Reference Number:   WO 86/71
