Mick (Michael) Kennedy from Cloonaghmore (Clonaslee)
« on: Wednesday 20 October 21 15:11 BST (UK) »
Hello. I am looking for some help with where to go next with my GG-GF Michael (Mick) Kennedy. I know he lived in the family home in Cloonaghmore where he was married to Bridget (Biddy) Connor from circa 1800 till his death in 1889 aged 91. He had five children starting with Catherine b1840, Mary b1842, Michael b1844, Anne b1859 and my G-GF John b1852. They all lived in Cloonaghmore and I know my G-GF continued to do so with his family. Any advice or info would be great. Cheers Simon

Link to his death in 1889. John Kennedy (son?) of Cloonaghmore was the informant.

Is this John Kennedy and his family in 1901 census?

Michael's widow died just 3 months after him in 1889. Again the informant was John Kennedy.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. The death reg for Mick matches what I have and the census record for 1901 is indeed the same family home and owners. They also show up on the 1911 census which then has my GD on it. I hadn't found the deg reg for Bridget (Biddy) so that is really useful as I can start putting some dates in. The parish records for Clonaslee you linked, will they have the birth reg's for their children?

The maps are really useful, I had managed to track down Plot 13 as the land they rented from the Dunne's (who are appear to be pretty prominent in the area). I have recently got some letters written by my late father when he was staying with the family in 1949. He was using the word Clunach which I can now see was Cluanach from the map you sent over.

Thank you ever so much for this.

Simon
