Joy Family
« on: Friday 12 November 21 11:23 GMT (UK) »
Hey
I'm doing research on my family tree, I have a few relitives with the name William Joy, which have also served in the war. How many children did your grandfather have? I'm wondering if it's the same William that is related to me.

Hi and welcome to RootsChat.

My grandfather had 2 sons.  I have done a lot of research on the Joy family from Kent and there are numerous Williams!

If you tell me a bit more about your family I will see if there is a link and anything I can help you with.

My 3rd great grandfather was born 1893 (England haven't found specific location), married a katherine Baker. They had 3 sons; William, James and Thomas (all served in the war) appears some of the sons were born in Middlesex, England.
James marries mazio T wells had a bunch of kids

Those people are not known to me.

I see the marriage of James Joy was in Yorkshire in 1911.  If I have the right person then his father could not have been born in 1893!  Can you clarify please?  Some aproximate dates and places would also be helpful.

That is the correct James marriage 1911. There was a typo for the father. 1863, not 1893.

Well done Rosie!

So, it does seem that this is a Joy family from Yorkshire. As yet I have found no links with my Kent family.

I am afraid I have no information on them but am happy to help with your research.
