I did find 2 marriages
William Boys both in Sunderland, 1840 and 1850

William Boys and Jane Ann Elliott, 22 Oct 1850, Bishopwearmouth
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NXG2-G2P

Marriage allegation is also on FamilySearch
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-XCRH-W5R

There is a birth on the new index
BOYS, (Male)
Mother's Maiden Surname: ELLIOTT
GRO Reference: 1856  M Quarter in SUNDERLAND  Volume 10A  Page 390

But probably died as there is no male of that age with William and Jane Boys in 1861.
Piece 3771 folio 27 page 48
William is a Ship Carpenter. Looks like they are in the same house as Jane's parents.

This might well be Thomas Boys born 1856 who died in the 1st q 1857, father's name William (per Durham Records Online index search)

Looking at  what  has  been  found so  far  ì  am seriously  wondering if
William  was  in  fact  his father, I  thought  putting  in  William  and occupation  on 1851 and 1861  might  have   come up with something, I  am  also wondering what  brought him to  Beckton plus the spelling of his  surname with  a Durham  accent, whatever  that  may  be

Thank  you  for  all of  your suggestions
