Edward James b 1751 Whitchurch herefordshire

In 1841 is living with a susan James 72

The thing about the 1841 census it doesn't tell what relationship they are to each other

Susan might be Edwards daughter or daughter in law

Anyone shed some light on this

They are living washings doward

Did Edward James marry ??

Was Susan James his daughter or daughter in law  ( if daughter in law who was she married to ?? )

Thank you in advance of the reply

Best wishes Phil

If Susanna James is 72 in 1841 then she must have been born c1769.

There is a baptism for a Susanna Davis in Hereford 1767 parents John and Mary and a marriage for and Edward James to a Susanna Davis in Whitchurch 20 June 1797
Smith Tiplady Boulton Branthwaite King Miller Woolfall Bretherton Archer and many more

Do you think that Edward might actually be 70 on the image in 1841 and his age has been mistranscribed  :-\    The first number looks rather like the 7 in Susan's age??

Could be a 7 instead of a 9

That would put Edward at 70 and Susan at 72

Are either or both in the 1851 census ??
In whitchurch herefordshire

Best wishes Phil

I can also say that Walter signed up in December 1914 and appears to have gone through the war (with some spells in hospital). His application for a pension was rejected. Annoyinly there's no dob to hel find  him in 1939. The other potentially useful info is that he and Bessie lived in Plumtree Cottage, Symonds Yat (an address also listed is Peartree Cottage - not sure if they moved from one to the other or someone got his fruits confused when doing his paperwork)
