Marriage info etc

Hi

I don't know a lot but wondered if it is enough to find a marriage and find his parentsplease?

I'm looking for the parents of William Purse
I believe he was born in 1924 - possibly Canada
He married a Barbara Ann Hyde (nee Spraggs) in 1948 - age 24 - Canada
They might have divorced in 1954
He died in either 1994 or 1988

Maybe there is an Obit for him or his parents?

Any information would be great - thankyou

If William was born in Canada, and stayed in the Prairies (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba) he
should appear on the 1926 Prairie Census. There is one in Saskatchewan that is a possible.

they were together.

They each give an address of 2418 Brunswick St. Vancouver, BC. They each give John W. Purse
as father/grandfather 465 Cumberland Ave. Winnipeg, Man. They were all debarred from
crossing as they were deemed LPC (likely public charge).

There is an obit in the Winnipeg Free Press Aug. 20, 1993. I don't have access to it, but at the bottom of the page there is the OCR text, it is scrambled but you can pick out bits.

William Bill Joseph Purse age 68 survived by wife Alice and sister Marguerite Hall, step mother
Fern, stepsisters........ he spent 34 years with the post office.....
