Cause of Death John Johnson 1851 - link
« on: Sunday 28 November 21 15:17 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone please work out the cause of death of John Johnson 1851 in Hobart? I have looked at several websites which have old medical terms but haven't seen a contender.

Attached is a detail which has been lightened and flattened, and an unedited whole page for context.

very hard to read
Do you have a link to this register online? Perhaps this cause of death isn't unique and can be found elsewhere, but then better to read.

My first thought was phthisis with the cross stroke for the 't' going across the whole word.
Phthisis is an archaic name for tuberculosis
