Yes I have the 1901 and 1911 census.
How do you know it's him that died in 1917, I have seen that one but didn't think it was the same one

I have gone by the residences.

You first post has Peter from Carrowmore and there is one but the one who married Bridget Grimes is at Kilsallagh.

Do you have Peter’s child who is your relative?

Peter was born around 1851C so that cannot be the right Peter's death in Kinsallagh as he would have been born around 1833 and that's too early.

John Salmon and Bridget Sherran / Sheren were Peter's son and daughter in law they lived in the UK and were married in Makerfield Lancashire. It states Peter Salmon as father on the marriage cert. I think I found Peter and Bridget on Familysearch.gov connected to John and Bridget.
John was my partners grandfather so Peter would be his Gt grandfather when we find the right one.
Peter was a breadmaker / journeyman when John married bridget.

I will get it right soon

Is this him?
1901 3571 /70/28
Ashton in Makerfield
John Salmon 21 yrs b Sligo, Ireland
Bridget’s birthplace has been dittoed

The writing is really poor and John’s birthplace is transcribed as Sligo. There is a birthplace in Mayo further down the page and the writing is not dissimilar.  However comparing the first letter to the several examples of ‘Son’ on the page, it does look like ‘S’.

Here you are. This could be him
John Salmon b 1875 Sligo with father Peter, a Baker

Thank you Heywood, the John Thomas has thrown me as it's not on his marriage certificate, it states just john. Could it be that it was left off.

My partner has just done his DNA and Sligo is mentioned in it, it all seems to fit in.
