Stillborn WILLIAMS, St Woolos?
« on: Tuesday 07 December 21 11:19 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for my nannies stillborn baby she had in 1958, it would be nice for her to have some closure on where her final resting place was.

The baby was a girl, last name WILLIAMS. D.O.B 7th January 1958.

She was born in St Woolos hospital which is why I believe she may be in St Woolos cemetery. We all now live in Norfolk so we are unable to look at the records ourselves.

Any help much appreciated 😊

Welcome to RootsChat! :D

Stillbirths were normally just placed in a convenient open grave.
Don't think all cemeteries kept records?

Thank you!! 😁

From what I have read i thought they all had to be recorded whether they were put in mass graves or with other people but then you never know what happened back then. I found some records online of other stillborns in different cemeteries which has given me some hope. 🤞 St Woolos seems to be one that doesn't share records online.

There is a phone number here for the Cemetery Superintendant.

No harm in trying, particularly as you have a precise birth date.

Thank you, I thought this was the case! I can't find the records online though and I'm the other side of the UK so was hoping someone may have access to them 😁
