Hi
Mom was Lucille Henbest and I have been doing lots of genealogy work on our Henbest family. An interesting data problem is that I have never seen a document supporting that the middle name of my grandfather Alfred Henbest is Ginsel. All the documents I have seen show his name as Alfred G. Henbest. Do you have any document showing Ginsel as his middle name?
I’ve been looking for more Henbest in England data. Briefly, I have the following Henbest lineage:
John Henbest (b 1540 in England) to John Henbest (b 1580) to William Henbest (b 1614) married Christian Ireland to Robert Henbest (b 1653) married Ann Osmond (b abt 1662) to Osmond Henbest (b 1685) married Alice Redman (b abt 1679) to Osmond Henbest (b 1712) married Mary Osborne (b 1709) to William Henbest (b 1735 in England) married Anne Starms to James Henbest (b abt 1762, d 1832 in England) married Sarah Peckham (b 1761, d 1832) to William Henbest (b 1793 in Bramshaw, Hampshire) and d 1839 in Marshall Ill.) Married Sophia Knowlton (b 1792 in England, d 1 May 1874 in Clark County Illinois) to John Albert Henbest (b 29 Dec 1820 in Bramshaw England and d 21 Feb 1904 in Cassville Missouri) married Elizabeth Shipp to Alfred Henbest (1862 in Marshall Ill, d 1940 in Fayetteville Arkansas who was my Grandfather. Alfred married Joanna Meador (b 3 December 1867 in Barry County Missouri and d 6 April 1949 in Fayetteville Ark). Lucille Henbest, their daughter, is my mother. The Meador folk came from England to Virginia in the early 1600s.
I’m also looking for good referenced data on my Henbest folk in England?
I have lots of my Pearce, Henbest, and Meador data in America in my Family Tree Maker file and on Ancestry.com that I will be glad to share.
