There were other Daniel Johns in the family. I did find Daniel's father John aka Daniel John's marriage to Eliza McCotter in 1865 in Killygullib, Ireland and John's father was Daniel. It is clear to me that these are different Hurls than the ones from Co. Derry that I have been following. For one thing, John and Eliza were married in a Roman Catholic chapel. Would really like to know John's mother's name. Several trees have John as a child of William John Hurl and Mary ann Watterson (the ones that married abt 1839) but that is obviously not the case if John's father was Daniel and he was Catholic. John was born abt 1838/1839 and looking like he may have died in England.

Thanks for your wonderful help and followup on this family. And finding Dennis who was likely in England when Daniel died in 1941, not in Ireland as per the obit.

I believe Daniel's grandfather Daniel Hurl, widower, died Dec 23, 1891 in Killygullib, with his daughter Mary present to whom he willed everything as per proni. I did not find an obit for Daniel on British Newspaper Archive. Can anyone find his death notice? In all the records that I have found, I do not have a wife for Daniel.
John Hurl of Killygullib Glebe married Eliza McCotter in 1865 in the Roman Catholic Chapel. His  father Daniel but of course, the mother's name is not given. I doubt it is  given in England when John died 1877-1881.
