Stumped over a place in County Cork
« on: Saturday 01 January 22 02:56 GMT (UK) »
Happy New Year Everyone!

May I please ask for assistance in working out a place name in County Cork?

This is from a family notice published in the Geelong Advertiser, Saturday 16th June, 1888.

The place, as spelt out in the family notice, is KILECULDUAGH, parish of Mitchelstown, County Cork, Ireland.

I can't find anything close in Cork (or anywhere else!).  Does anyone recognise the place, or something like it?

Thanks for looking!

Paul

Could it be the name of a house in the Killaclug area?

See this map....Maiden Stone gave Kilgullane this is on the map, zoom in a little and you will see Ballyathur ED...............see the road (well it's a Lane) L5632 it's the area above that lane.
I have an old OS map and spotted it on there.
Killaclug West and East.
Duagh means black ford, so may be a ford there.  ???
