I can't find Burial information for Pennycook/Penicuick Midlothian, Scotland

Hi all. I'm new to Rootschat so thanks.
I have 2 questions regarding ancestors.
I can't find any burial information for my Scottish relatives. One who died at the "Inveresk Combination Poorhouse" in 1886. Marion Hamilton (born Pennycook/Penicuick).
"Usual residence Lugton".
Also, her mother, Helen Porteous Pennycook/Penicuick (born Lasswade 1792) and died in "Westmill, Cockpen" Midlothian in 1867.
I have run out of search options. Any ideas most welcome.

Just noticed this old post with seemingly no replies . There is an exceedingly comprehensive tree for this family on Ancestry compiled by a lady in Australia. There is no specific mention of burials but, if you're still stuck, it might be worth contacting her. If you aren't on Ancestry I can message her for you?

Not all records are necessarily available online. Did you try asking Midlothian Council what records they have?

Hi Matt.
Thanks for taking an interest in my search. I'm on Ancestry, but haven't had any luck, so I'm curious about the lady you came across. I'm from Australia (but in Canada now) so it might actually be a relation. I would like to know her name.  I'm fairly new to the whole researching/Ancestry/MyHeritage info. so forgive my ignorance.   I have contacted Midlothian Cemeteries, but will perhaps revisit that. It was a while ago.

This is a very tardy reply I'm afraid but there is a death record on Scotland's People (pay to view) site for Marion Hamilton 1886 aged 63 mmn Porteous. The OP has probably found it by now! Franinoz

I just dropped into this site after a long absence and happened upon your query.  Penicuik is spelled "Penicuik".  Not sure if that information will be much use to you since people will know exactly what you mean when you add "Midlothian".  The graveyard in Penicuik is very well maintained.  The local Family History Society will most likely have graveyard inscriptions that you could ask them about.

Have you asked Midlothian Council as already suggested?

If there is a record of the burial, they should either have it or know where it can be found.

Don't expect all burial records to be available online.

Also try the local Family History society.  They'll have burial records for the area.
