Hello Rootschatters
I'm on the hunt for Louisa Hockey
before her marriage.
Thanks to the help of Rootschatters, I've found her marriage on 14th October 1843 in St. Giles, Reading, Berkshire:
Benjamin Brown is a carpenter, and a widower. Residence is Spring Gardens. Father John Brown is also a carpenter.
Louisa is a spinster. Residence 35 Church Street. Father Henry Hockey is a surgeon.
- in the 1851 census, she's in Reading St. Giles with her husband and two sons; her age is 31 and birthplace given as Bayford, Somersetshire.
- in the 1861 census, she's still in Reading St. Giles with her husband and three sons; her age is 43 and birthplace given as Bayford, Somersetshire.
- in the 1871 census, she's still in Reading St. Giles, widowed, with her three sons; her age is 41 and birthplace given as Ditcheat, Somerset.
I presume she died before the 1881 census, but not sure.
I'm interested in finding her baptism records and her entry on the 1841 census.
I can't find anything in the Somerset records on Ancestry, but perhaps I'm missing something.
Appreciate any help
All the best
Andy
