Margaret or Bridget Horne/Horen possibly from Sligo
« on: Sunday 30 January 22 13:49 GMT (UK) »
I am researching two names.  They may be the same person.  Margaret Horne is on the 1851 census born in 1797 in Ireland.  Then I have Bridget Horn on the 1841 census born in 1801 in Ireland, Bridget Horne on the 1861 census born in 1801 in Ireland, Bridget Horen on the 1871 census born in Sligo Ireland.  They appear to have a daughter Margaret born in 1833 in Ireland who married Michael Connelly also from Ireland, possibly Roscommon.  I have found members of both families living in areas around Woverhampton on census's in areas such as St Peters Square, Tin Shop Yard, Tin Shop Passage, Clarks Building, Charles Street and North Street.  I am trying to trace the Irish roots of these two families in particular Margaret/Bridget.  Has anyone else come across these families?

Hello,
Do you have a father’s name from Margaret’s marriage certificate? Having a fathers name to search with could help.

There are Catholic records available but you need a parish or townland at least.

I agree that Bridget (1841) and Margaret (1851) seem to be the same person.

Hi
Thanks for that.  Unfortunately I do not have any marriage records for her.  I think that she must have got married in Ireland.  She is showing as either the head of the family or as a widow on the UK census's

Sorry, I mean the daughter Margaret who married Michael Connelley in 1849.

It might help if you had her father’s name.
