Thanks for the onion tip Maiden Stone, will bear it in mind when I finally persuade myself to do some decorating! Must say I don't get the pleasure from it that I do from my other sort of painting!

Glad to hear you're getting back in the loop Viktoria.  :D

Caroline, I hope you find things in TNA conducive to being able to remove your mask some of the time.

Mare, we've had some high winds lately but nothing like your tropical cyclone! Pleased to hear your daughter managed to avoid the worst of it.
I was amused to read that authorities in NZ have been playing Barry Manilow's greatest hits in an attempt to repel protestors   ;D ;D

Ooops, my last sentence previous post re young grandson was directed to Caroline just ahead of me, obvious maybe to most but omitted to say.

Yes, Roobarb but the tactic didn't work, a case of one size doesn't fit all really and toes are digging in. They do have some strong support to encourage them from those who agree and can't be there themselves, I've kept up a little of what it's like there via postings of a cousin's son. Interesting the snippets that make international news, saw also that Daily Mail  I think it was also ran with a woman at the protest announcing to TV cameras that her husband had the vax and so she's done with him ... 'twas't me, honest guv!

I have just lost a post !
A long one too!
Ah well, my son in law answering a call from me to see how things are progressing with my daughter , no word as yet from the hospital .

Such high winds mare ,we are to have some really strong ones this week but also some very mild weather .
Strange weather these days!

Roobarb- wild horses could not keep me away!
Just something my limited intelligence did not understand !

As I sit here not doing housework  I can smell some daffodils I bought on Saturday ,don’t usually think,of them as scented but there is something.
So cheerful,” I wandered lonely as a cloud “ etc etc !

Nice to read of family gatherings and celebrations ,some lifting of spirits not forgetting those whose lives have been deeply changed .

Barry Manilow, will he get royalties for that ,a former neighbour was besotted by him  ???I could not understand it ,but she did not like John Thaw as Morse
who strongly resembled my OH,silver hair and such blue eyes .

Sorry if I offend anyone ,but for the life of me I can’t understand the non Vaccinators , I will stick my neck out and say I feel it is a public duty to do what is best for the greater number .
I wonder if the marriage was at a bad time anyway and she had an “ excuse”?

I think I worded something poorly so a little confusion ,my son was born June 1957,The time I spoke of was that year but not at this time ,more into the season .
But thanks for your kind wishes.I will sing “ A very merry unbirthday to you “
to him ,I will phone a bit later .

The Drs .are now considering Myocarditis ,as a long term effect of Glandular Fever ,as  a Teenager .
Funnily enough it was on Call The Midwife ,last night.
I phoned and mentioned it but seemingly it was already being considered .

Well, sun out ,some washing finished but still some clouds so on the clothes maiden.
Oooh Michelangelo !
The Sistine Chapel ,however he was not all that good with ladies ‘ ahem aha ,
“ figures” a statue in the Duomo Florence has a woman? or was the model a boy with two coconut shells?
Not lifelike at all .
His Pieta in Bruges however is truly wonderful .

Look after yourselves folks ,I must get on, no rest for the wicked ,I just wish I could remember my wickedness ,It might have been quite exciting .
Cheerio.
Viktoria.

Viktoria, there are many varieties of scented daffodils. "Cheerfulness" is one of them. "Sir Winston Churchill" is similar. I have pots of 2 scented late white varieties on or near the back door-step, "Thalia" and "Tresamble". They are closely related. I prefer "Thalia". They may bloom in April. I became a connoisseur of fragrant narcissus some years ago when I was making a shortlist for a sensory community garden.
I paused on my walk on Saturday to sniff winter honeysuckle blossom. Wind + exposed position meant delicate fragrance couldn't be detected. Still, cold days are best to appreciate it.

Bright blustery day today, got some sheets on the line.

Daughter did not get her op yesterday ,an emergency had arrived so she stayed overnight as I think she must have had some pre op stuff, anyway her husband has just phoned all done and in recovery and all being well will be allowed home later today.
It must be a small hospital at Bury St.Edmunds I think .

I have been thinking ,might invest in a small electric water heater, I have to run such a lot to get really hot water for washing and rinsing pots ,then the pipes from the boiler are left full of hot water that cools and will be run off next time !
A small electric one will be more economical and hotter water too I should think, so warrants investigation .

Hope all are well, and families too.

At Eye clinic tomorrow, ought to have had check up in Sept but obviously things must have been difficult so just pleased to have one finally.

Son been for ECG today so must wait for results now.

Well dusk is coming very quickly .ten minutes ago I was out bringing in washing!
Bulbs coming along nicely in my little greenhouse, almost ready to put out in the beds but a tidy up first.
Weather permitting!
Pruning to do as well, the Dogwood is taking over !
Just did a half prune in Autumn.

Roses I bought dormant and planted in deep pots  already with shoots and a
cutting from the Captain Sir Tom Rose has shoots.
Oh and my artificial lawn has got moss growing on it !
What more can you ask!
Well look after yourselves everyone , Cheerio.
Viktoria.
