Brady - Robert and Mary Eliza (Hall)
« on: Saturday 19 February 22 18:22 GMT (UK) »
I am still researching my friend's Brady family from County Cavan in Ireland.   Her great grandparents were Robert Brady and Mary Eliza Hall who married 29th June 1903.   Robert's father was another Robert and Mary Eliza's father was Joseph Hall.  The witnesses at the wedding were George Brady and Fanny Hall.  I believe George to have been Robert's uncle and Fanny, his cousin as both names are on the 1901 Census with Robert Brady.   I also believe Fanny is Mary Eliza's sister, making Robert and Mary Eliza first cousins.  They share a grandfather, George Brady (I found George's name on Robert Snr's marriage certificate.)   I do not know whether they share a grandmother or not as I have no other information about George Brady, other than he was a farmer possibly from Killykeen.

Is any one able to help/

Kind regards
Ellenmaggie

Marriage of Robert Brady & Mary Hall (Longford district)-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1903/10238/5726037.pdf

Deborah Hall born 1888 (Granard dist.)- parents Joseph Hall & Eliza Brady-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1888/02494/1925115.pdf
Deborah Hall m.(1918) John Bennett-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1918/09730/5530352.pdf

Fanny Hall born 1881- same parents as Deborah-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1881/02839/2040632.pdf

I thought this might be Fanny's daughter:
Debora Jane Kilroy- mother Fanny Hall- born 1913-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1913/01450/1592742.pdf
However, marriage gives her father as John Hall (although a George Brady is witness)-

Going back a generation, Joseph Hall married 1873 Eliza Brady- fathers are Joseph Hall & George Brady-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1873/11280/8137796.pdf
One of the witnesses is a John Hall (could be be the above Fanny's father?)

1911 census shows George Brady with a married niece, Fanny Gilroy, in household. This is the Fanny Hall who married Anthony Kilroy in 1910-
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Cavan/Killykeen/Tonymore/340142/
George is single but widowed sister Annie Grant also in household.
Same household in 1901 as posted earlier-

George Brady died 1917-

Quite a bit of information on your earlier thread which 1) would have been useful and 2) would have saved us from wasting time looking for details you already had. It also helps if you put links to information you've already found.
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=857813.msg7264520#msg7264520

From other thread-
Joseph Hall born about 1852/3 - married Eliza Brady on 21st August 1873 in the parish church at Kilmore, County Cavan - he was 20 and a farmer from Cornadrung, Longford - the son of Joseph or John (the writing isn't great) Hall.  Eliza was 23 and from Toneymore, Kilmore, the daughter of George Brady.

It certainly looks like his father is JOSEPH Hall rather than John. Irish Genealogy have transcribed surname as Hale rather than Hall which meant it took a bit longer to find (another reason it would have help for you to give link)

They had the following children that I have found:
Anne Hall (1874- )
Mary Eliza Hall (1875-1945)
Joseph Hall (1877-1964)
Charles Hall (1879- )
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1879/02917/2068744.pdf
Fanny Hall (1881 - )
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1881/02839/2040632.pdf
John Hall (1884 - )
William Hall (1887 - )
Deborah Hall (1888  )
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1888/02494/1925115.pdf

John Hall, Cornadrung, son of Charles Hall, married Anabella Lawrence
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1873/11288/8141306.pdf
son Charles born 1877-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1877/03008/2102486.pdf
Two years earlier a Charles Hall died there- cause of death "Visitation of God a few seconds"
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1875/020631/7238665.pdf

There's an 1873 marriage where both parties are Hall, children of a Henry Hall and a Charles Hall-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1873/11288/8141292.pdf

There are still Halls at Cornadrung or at least there were fairly recently. I think you will find all these families intermarried and you may need church records (if they exist) to sort them out better after you search through all possible vital records online.

Apologies for not incorporating previous threads, I am still learning how to use Roots Chat but will put links to the information I have in future and where I got it.   Thank you for the information re George Brady's death in 1917 and also re John Hall and his marriage to Annabel Lawrence.   It is like a very involved jigsaw puzzle with lots of blue sky - I will investigate further.

Thank you for your help.
