Llanvigan place name Cui
« on: Tuesday 22 February 22 01:21 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I have several historic references to Edward Games and John Games 1600s to 1700s who are "from Cui, Parish Llanvigan"

I think Cui was a manor or hamlet in Llanvigan, but I can't locate it.

It may be near Pencelli, but that is a guess.

All comments will be appreciated!!

Thanks,

Llanfi  :) :) :) :) :) :)

Added - If you zoom in on the Genuki map (link on the previous post) Cui is shown as Cui Park

Hello Kay99!

I am astounded by your identification of Cui, and it helps a lot with my research into the Games (Gam) family...

I am looking at a Will made by Thomas Games in 1659 who refers to "his dear friend John Games of Cuy".

I couldn't find Cuy (Cui) anywhere except for that mention on Genucki

Now I know!

All the best!

Delighted it was of use.   I usually check Genuki first as they give a map of the parish boundaries

Wonderful property  :)
