Hughie Owen Roberts

I am trying to find my Uncles death date, he was born Hughie Owen Roberts, 25th June 1913, High Street, Newmarket, his birth certificate was registered in the county of flintshire. I think he died between 1967 and 1971. His parents names were Moses Roberts and Fanny Jones. I would like to find them on the 1921 Welsh census, however, not sure what district to look at. My Grandfather died 12/12/1922 at the Black Boy, which was a Pub, Newmarket. I hope someone can help.

Was Uncle married or a single gentleman?

There is only one born Newmarket so I would check that one out first. 

There is a death in 1971 of a person with that name born 1913.

This is the only death that fits the birth year.
There is another in 1965 as Hugh O with no birth date.
Born in Newmarket and registered in Flintshire makes me think travellers.

Have you looked for him on the 1921 census which is only available on FindMyPast - a subscription site.  If Moses died 1922 Newmarket then that is presumably where they were living in 1921

Have you looked for him on the 1939 register as you know his full birthdate?

I looked for Hughie with only 2 deaths during that period, one born in 1897 and the other 1923, with neither having a middle name.

As you are not sure when the death happened, I opened the search from 1960 to 1985 and nothing fits yout birth date, or even month.

Why do you think his death was between 1967 - 1971?  What is significant about those dates?

The 1939 has him at:
Hugh O Roberts . 1913 . Ardwyn, Strand, Holywell . Holywell U.D. . Wales
The 1921 has two the same name and born the same year in Holywell, but only one born in Newmarket:
Hugh Owen Roberts . 1913 . Newmarket, Flintshire, Wales
I do not pay a subscription, so only see the basics, but these seem to be the right person.

Moses & Fanny only married June qtr 1913

Hughie’s birth reg on freebmd is incorrectly shown as Hughie C in the Sept qtr 1913.  GRO online confirm it as Hughie Owen

The 1939 entry above does not match the birthdate given & is the 1971 death shown in the earlier reply.  With parents in 1939
