Death of Charles William Squires
« on: Tuesday 01 March 22 14:34 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

My great-grandfather is driving me mad. I've been trying to track down his death but without success.

I've looked on Ancestry, FindMyPast, Family Search and Free BMD, but not a trace.

Would anyone be able to help me out?

Charles William Squires (apparently he went by William)
b. West Derby 1875

He was living in Barry in the 1921 census at 23, Commercial Road, Barry and is in the electoral register at the same address until 1929.

His second wife Frances Maud died in Liverpool in around 1944 where she had moved with her children after the pair appear to have split up. I have a feeling he died around 1946.

Any clues gratefully accepted.

Hi Carole,

No, my first thought was that he had died by then.

Oh! You star!  ;D

Yes, all the details fit for Maude's family. The only thing is that I do not know whether the couple had split up (she was living with her children in Liverpool by 1932, including one of her step-children in 1934) or whether Charles William had already died and she had moved home to Liverpool. Whatever the case, I now know he had died by 1944.

Thanks!

I should have spotted that, yes  :(

But the news-cutting is worthy of a star

Not that it helps much but his date of birth was 26th July 1875.
