Does the 1921 census include the Channel Islands? 

Baptism shows full birthdate as 1.12.1906

Yes it does and the free search shows a Dorothy c1907 that would fit  Dorothy Alexandra Ball in the same household as an Edward Ball bn c1870 in St Peter Port.  There is an Angeline Marie Ball born c 1875 France showing elsewhere, could that be her mother

according to 1911 cencus her mother was born grouville jersey est 1869

Have you looked at the 1921 entry for Edward and Dorothy to confirm it is the correct family

thanks for all help yes that is right that is them sadly Edward is down as widow so Dorothys mother  must died between 1911-1921 she was born Angelina Adele Aubert  middle name also spelled Adile born 1870  grouville jersey daughter of John Aubert i got fathers name from marriage cert other than that until she married she doesnt appear on any cencus shes on 1901 and 1911 under Name Lena ball living 25 george st with Husband Edward Ball and children  i cannot find her birth from 1870 so no idea who her mother was  and shes not on 1871 1881 1891 cencus bit of a mystery would love to know when she died and any help finding her on a cencus before she married much appreciated  thanks Dave

Maybe the fathers name on the marriage certificate was wrong.  :-\.  Could he have been Jean Baptiste Aubert aka Baptiste Aubert

There is a Leonie Aubert born Grouville on the 1871 / 1881 census with parents Baptiste & Marie.  Also there is a baptism mention on FindMyPast for the period 20 Jul 1861 to 26 Feb 1871 for a Leonie Adele Aubert at Grouville though no finer details are given just a link to Jerripedia.

1891 census has a Lena Aubert as a servant to John Coutanche - RG12/4696 f71 page 4 -   In 1891 Baptiste & Marie appear on census but only their son Baptiste is at home.

Baptiste is 43 born Breteville France, Marie F is 47 born Bolleville France.
