That family search entry you gave the link to - if you click on Document Information it gives a digital folder no.
Click on that folder no. and it gives a list of the entries in that folder, they are all from Newcastle papers so that increases the chances of the one you are looking for being published in Newcastle. If you search that film number with first name William surname Auld, William H.'s obituary entry is in the results
Go to the BNA site, which allows free searches.
Search for Auld, specify the date as 2nd August 1856 and the place as Newcastle
and this pops up in the results:
ref:Newcastle Guardian & Tyne Mercury 2nd August 1856, page 8
Free synopsis says :
In Blenheim-street, on the 27th ult. aged 18, John Charles, engiue-fitter. In Lord-street, ou the 26th nit. Mr William H. Auld, hatter. On the New-road, on the 24th ult. aged 9, William George and ou the 25th ult. aged 3, John Liversago, sons of Mr w ...
okay so the OCR has garbled it a bit but, 'ou' = on, 'nit' = ult (the last) (I've spent a lot of time deciphering the OCR in these sort of snippets!) so he died 26th July at Lord Street and he was a hatter.
I also looked at the GRO site which gives middle names at death and there is a death reg Q3 1856 Newcastle for William Henderson Auld aged 29 which looks likely to relate to this newspaper notice.
Hopefully the address, middle name, occupation and age will help you to decide if he's the man you are looking for.
