Quick answer: Search online for the records, by church, rather than by surname.
go back to whomever told you where they were buried and ask for the source/details...

http://www.kent-opc.org/Parishes/Yalding.html

https://www.kentarchives.org.uk/collections/parish-registers/
Is it on CityArk?

Is it on find-a-grave? Is it the church, or the cemetary?

https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery-browse/England/Kent/Maidstone-Borough/Yalding?id=city_416009

ancestral links need to be verified by census, birth/baptism  & marriage certificates

You can find this info as follows:

You say he was b 1900.  Look him up on the 1939 register to get his full birthdate.  The only entry with a 1900 birthdate has a middle initial.  Yalding came under Maidstone RD

Look up his birth on freebmd then use GRO online to find his mmn

www.freebmd.org.uk
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

Use freebmd to find his parents marriage

Use the 1901/1911/1921censuses to get further info on the family - 1901 & 1911 census info is free on www.familysearch.org & 1921 payable on FindMyPast

If he married - his marriage cert will give his fathers name

Re: James Ball b 1844.  You don’t give any info as to when he died - just that you have him in the 1871 census?

I can’t see an 1871 entry with the profile given.  Was he born Wrotham or just living there?

Please post full details of the 1871 entry & advise as to when he died

There is no Walter Ball death in 1964 in Kent nor is there a birth in the Maidstone RD if he was allegedly b Yalding

3 births in Kent on freebmd 1899-1901 all with middle names

No 1901 or 1911 entry with a birthplace of Yalding so where are you getting your info from & what checks have you done to confirm it's correct?

Walter Ball married Mercy Beaney "1928" Maidstone District.

Walter Ball married Priscilla Beaney "1908" Otford. How close is Otford to Yalding? Not my part of the county!
Correction - the banns were read 1908.

Look up Walter & Mercy Ball on the 1939 register - your birth year of 1900 for Walter is way out & if I have the right 1911 entry - his birthplace was not Yalding.

If you believed his parents to be Walter & Priscilla - did you not look up their marriage on freebmd?  A 1908 marriage does not indicate a son b 1900.  Looking them up on the 1911 would also have given you his correct birthplace

Mercy Ball died in Nottingham in 1988

Hi Achoo,
I think you need to check your information sources.
For a veteran members post there seem to be a plethora of inaccuracies.
There doesn't appear to be any "Ball" Burials in either of the Yalding Churchyards . With all the helpful comments you have received you should find what you need.
When you have established correct names dates places etc.You will stand a much better chance of getting results . Good Luck. :) :)
