Useful Guide to Guernsey Records

I have recently discovered that although my Gt-Gt-grandfather was buried in Guernsey in 1866 his death was not registered.  After a little more research I have learnt that although civil registration began in 1841 the records are not comprehensive until the 1880s.  I believe that this especially applied to deaths of people not permanently resident in Guernsey.  It also appears that the Indexes to registrations that did take place are not easy to use.  I am including a link to a guide published by the Priaulx Library which explains everything in more detail:
