George Lawe & Mary Read/Reed, Dundalk
« on: Monday 21 March 22 13:23 GMT (UK) »
Mary Reed married George Lawe in Dundalk in 1767. They had a son called William A. James Lawe, born St Nicholas 19.08.1773. Would like to know who the parents of Mary Reed and George Lawe were and if William A.J. Lawe had any siblings. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi
The full name is William Aldboura James Lawe and as you say bapt 1773 (from ffolliott papers)
From the same source
George Law buried 23.10.1767 (perhaps a brother)
Mrs Law buried 12.6.1766
Mrs Law buried 10.4.1791
Moses Lowe buried 7.9.1788

Marriage 24.5.1767 Dundalk. George Lawe and Mary Reed.

That's it I'm afraid.

However there is a tree on Ancestry

George dies c1805 and leaves a PCC Will leaving everything to his daughter Letitia Lowe
His death is at Languard Fort Suffolk 8.8.1805 age 68 .(which is there)

The tree on Ancestry gives his marriage to Mary Reed as Dundalk 24.5.1767
Children John Tonnadine Lawe 1763-85,George I 1769-1816 ,Lettita 1769-27.10.1806 Hammersmith with PCC Will,Robert 1776-1816
He remmaried in Quebec where he was stationed with the Army Rachel Sarah Franks 1778-1790 and had 3 more children Judge John Law 1779-1846,Rebecca Franks Lawe 1780-,and Allen 1794.

George's parents are given as Robert Lawe  1707-1786 Barrackmaster General of Ireland and Martha Wright son 1710-1788.
Mary's parents are given as Charles Reed bat 30.3.1739 (which is there at Dundalk).

There's tons on there.Far more than I could find so I would suggest having a look and getting in touch.

Many thanks. I could have the wrong man. William Adboura James Lawe, baptised 19.08.1773 at St Nicholas Paris Church, Dundalk married at St Nicholas, Harwich, Essex and died 1817 in Essex. Pure speculation, but could William's Christian names have been, William, Aldbrough, James Lawe. If so, could he have been related to Aldbrough Lawe born 1730, the son of Reverend Robert Lawe 1707 -1786 and his wife Martha Wrightson, 1710 - 1788.

Hi
The family tree I mentioned has William Aldboura James Lawe as Robert and Martha Wrightson's grandson ,so Aldborough Lawe would be his uncle.

I found the below site, which may be on interest to the Wrightson - Lawe family lines and show there is a connection through the Aldbrough Christian name. http://www.wrightsons.com/ireland.htm#dundalk
