You say Amelia ROBERTS  died 1957 - you mean Amelia Eden.  What address was she living at in 1939?

If the females married you need to establish their married names before you can look for deaths

Check the 1939 register for them

yes she was Amelia ROBERTS before she married EDEN when she died

i m sorry carole  i dont know the years of death for the children I can be pretty sure of Abiah Roger Edens because his name is unusual

+ a tree on ancestry had gertrude JONES (nee EDEN) but no other info as its their mother i hope its reliable

ive never been particularly good at freereg and have forgotten how to do it and my registration number

 searching because dna indicates that one of them is the grandparent of my distant relative  who doesnt know their exact parentage ,

But we've calculated that Amelia EDEN nee ROBERTS must be their great grandmother ..

Florrie (Skidmore) Eden is mis transcribed on the 1939 Register as Morris Eden.

Looks like her husband is also there.  He's transcribed as Abrah P Eden

They are living at 148 Elliot Street, Tyldesley

Cas it looks like i have to join those forums so I'll leave that til morning

carole working from dna is sort of the opposite from when you know the parents

i have to work back down ..dont know who they married or childrens names or the kind of thing a birth child usually knows .

Now i know that Florrie is mistranscibed as Morris on 1939 register on ancestry  I'll do that first  because
its a search Im familiar with

maybe someone will come on who can do newspaper searches . im not used to looking after 1939
except for people who emigrated

+could end with living people The person on Ancstry just has  their parents Albert Jones + gertrude Eden dates on tree (no places ,I found those myself) and a living brother .but is a close dna match to person im helping

 Ive messaged the grandson of Amelia Roberts EDEN
 but Hes too busy to help parent build up tree and parent is not computer savvy .

makes me wonder what motivation for 3 generations to take Ancestry dna tests was in first place
im too distant to match the grandchildren otherwise id contact them

It looks like Abiah Roger EDEN + Florrie had 2 children ..2 redacted lines

He was a sewing machine salesman

it would be really nice to find a descendant of his as his namesake was my great grandfather.

 Abiah Roger JONES his great  uncle . who  supported his niece and her 9 siblings + their mother Dorcas who was disowned for running away with the farm hand aged 15 
( the marriage lasted but so did her father's disapproval ).

 his neice Amelia may  just liked the name Abiah .

I can go to bed now 1 step closer .

I will follow up ..+ hopefully get hold of Gertrude EDENs son by phone or mail if I can find address.&  ask about his aunts .uncles siblings + cousins .
