RAWLNGS family of Crewe.

Can anyone help please ?  This is a real mystery.  A child RAWLINGS was born 1947 in Crewe with Mother PEAKE.   However the records show that a Sarah Ann PEAKE married Sydney D. HEMBROW in 1940 in Crewe. - Then a Sarah Ann PEAKE married Augustus C. RAWLINGS in July 1944, whilst a certain Annie S HEMBROW also married Augustus C. RAWLINGS in Sept 1944 ???  Is it me ??   ??? ??? ???

Rootschat has a strict no living persons policy.  The child b 1947 could still be alive so her name needs to be removed from your post unless you know she is deceased

Sidney D Hembrow died 30th October 1942, Calcutta, India. Ranchi War Cemetery, India.

So - Sarah Annie Hembrow the widow married as Annie Sarah Hembrow - maybe the Registrar got the neame the wrong way round - IT WAS during WW2 in 1944 and hectic times

Thanks everyone for all your help ..............I think we'll leave it there as I still don't know how Sarah A PEAKE can be shown as marrying both Sydney D. HEMBROW in 1940 and Augustus C. RAWLINGS in 1944, when August C RAWLINGS is also shown as marrying Annie S HEMBROW, also in 1944 ??

It is the way they registered the marriage for a widow /Sarah Annie Peake  is now Sarah Annie Hembrow - her husband Sidney dies in 1942 - Sarah remarries in 1944 and the registrar notes it down as
Sarah Annie Hembrow - her married name - and Sarah Annie Peake - her maiden name - the reason for this is when Augustus and Sarah have children - the child has to have the MOTHERS MAIDEN NAME - which was Peake  were any children born Rawlings / Peake ??
